This is an excellent book, with direct and thorough explanations and examples for all of the topics it covers. It explains topics that the official guides and Hartl's book failed (for me, at least) to clarify. The only flaw I find is in how it restricts its coverage of testing to the out-of-the-box provisions of Minitest and fixtures; with the majority of Rails developers using Rspec and FactoryBot, I would have hoped that these would have at least been included in the examples, if not treated as the de facto standards.

Poorly written, missing steps, inaccurate info, the author is full of himself considering how much he is missing.

Great book for learning Rails. I'm a relatively experienced developer and thought is was succinct. Maybe a little advanced for a beginner.
